Why choose Spokesman Cycles?

We’re a full-service bike shop. That means we do just about everything: sell, service, and repair all kinds of bicycles. Whether you’re riding a budget-friendly city bike or a state of the art racing bicycle, we’ll give you the attention you deserve. We rent bikes, too.

We have the best selection of cycling accessories in New York City. If you need a bike lock that can stand up to city living, a bicycle seat made for comfort or performance, a bike computer or just a new helmet, you’ll find the greatest choices at Spokesman Cycles.

There’s nothing our mechanics can’t do. A tune up from Spokesman Cycles will leave your bike riding like new. We also rebuild and service front and rear shocks; work on all brands of hydraulic and disc brakes; and we’re experts at frame repair and alignment.

We’re family-friendly, with a terrific choice of kids’ bicycles and baby seats.. Spokesman Cycles is the exclusive U.S. distributor for the award winning Leggero trailer and an authorized repair shop for Maclaren baby strollers.

We’re closer than you might think! Spokesman Cycles is just one subway stop from Midtown, and less than a mile from the 59th Street Bridge. We’re the closest bike shop to the Pulaski Bridge. The New York Water Taxi the LIRR and the LIE are all nearby.

We deliver! Call us at 718-433-0450 to arrange delivery in Long Island City, Astoria, Greenpoint, Williamsburg, and Roosevelt Island. Need a tune-up? We’ll arrange to pick up your bike, too.

We know our way around city biking. Our founder, Carlos, has lived in Long Island City since 1989 and worked in the bike industry even longer than that. He’s been an employee, manager and owner of several well-known bike shops in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Carlos has also led mountain biking tours in South America, coached teams of amateur cyclists for the Leukemia Society’s Team in Training, volunteered for Bike New York and other local cycling events, and served as race director for road races in Central Park.
